AccuScan provides certified MRO (Medical Review Officer) to companies who perform DOT and Non-DOT  drug and alcohol screening.

In an effort to avoid wrongly accusing an employee of illicit drug use, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) relies on a policy that includes placing a physician between the laboratory and the employer.  The physician functioning in this role, called a Medical Review Officer (MRO), must be a licensed physician who has knowledge of substance abuse disorders and appropriate medical training to interpret and evaluate positive test results.  DOT regulations require that regulated industries conducting drug testing programs use an MRO. The primary responsibility of the MRO is to review and interpret positive test results.  The MRO must also assess whether alternate medical explanations could account for the positive result.

An MRO must be used for both DOT and non-DOT drug screens.
